Review: Red Lips by Rimmel Apocalyps Lip Lacquer

Are you all ready for Valentine’s day? No matter weather you have someone special to share the day with or you’re planning to spend it with your friends, I bet you will put in extra effort to look great! I’m still deciding on my dress, am I going to go red or black? If it’s going to be black dress, I will go for a more extravagant make up, which will definitely include red lipstick. While I’m still deciding on my dress, I’m already planning in my head what make up to wear!

Valentine’s day is all about the colour red and love. So I decided to make a post about my favourite red lipstick, that I can’t be without. Ladies and gentlemen, may I represent you: Rimmel Apocalips, Big Bang

Pros: I’ve been very fond of this shade for some time now and that is for two reasons: the stunning bright red colour and the effect it creates. This lip lacquer is something to adore! It’s not a lipstick and it’s not a lip glos,s but once you try it you will love it! There is just something about the texture of this lacquer that you will fall in love with. Another fact I appreciate is its longetivity. It lasts longer than other lipsticks and has a pretty glimmer to it.

Cons: Although I’ve been raving how great it is, there is one thing. It’s a bit messy while applying, you do have to be careful to stay in the lines. Second thing, I realised it stains teeth if you’re not careful or if the coat is too thick. This is a massive issue to me. Try to use a lip liner to tame it down, it does help.

Conclusion: I’m going to invest in more shades, there are 13 shades and for the price of £5.99 it’s a bargain!

The Power of Red Lips:

A woman wearing red lips is usually seen as charismatic, clever and fearless. Red lips are very often associated with passion, sophistication,
excitement and drama, also sexuality and definitely plenty of charisma. Therefore we should be careful what places we wear them to, as these will be the messages we send out with red lips.

I don’t know about you, but I’m always aware I’m wearing red lips. It does give me confidence and may be a cheekiness on some level. I guess we are all attracted to the atmosphere that surrounds red lips.

What’s your favourite red lip brand and why would you recommend it to me?

Love this shade! I have celestial which is a natural dusky pink – definitely worth a look if you like the formula. Love this post – gone into so much detail about more than just the shade! Great blog.

Hi Katy! Thanks, I'll definitely have a look, going to Boots this week for some more shades and dusky pink sounds great as I wanted to go for an opposite colour to red xx

That is a lovely lip colour on you. Very dramatic! I do like red lips once in a while, but I like mine quite toned down, as I prefer to put focus on my eyes. xx

Yes, it is very dramatic, full on colour, not a choice for an everyday lipstick but perfect for nights out x
