How is everyone doing on this fine day? Today’s post is about making a proper berry smoothie made from fresh fruit! And yes, since I’m using berries, it will be packed with antioxidants! This is actually one of my favourite smoothie recipes as it’s very simple but also tastes divine. It can hardly get any better than this. And since we’ve started buying fruit from a local market, it became quite cheap to make a healthy and a tasty berry smoothie. So yes, there is a way to make healthy and cheap smoothies!

Ingredients for two beakers:

  • 2 boxes of blueberries
  • 1 big box of strawberries
  • 2 bananas
  • 1 ½ cup almond milk
  • 2 spoons of honey
  • Ice cubes

Next time I’m making this smoothie, I’m going to freeze a greek yoghurt beforehand so I can replace the ice cubes with the yoghurt! I think I’ll do one yoghurt per beaker to make it nice, chilled and thick!

Preparation:

  1. Split all (washed) ingredients into 2 halves and fill each beaker with one half.
  2. Blend in the blender until smooth and tad aah, it’s done!

From my own experience, you don’t need to use two boxes of blueberries, one is perfectly fine for two beakers but since I paid only £1 for both of them (I know, markets are the best), I didn’t feel guilty using it all!

Me and my man have smoothies for breakfast during weekends and it keeps us going until lunch time. We’ve switched our Sunday English breakfast for a healthy smoothie breakfast about 2-3 months ago and we feel amazing. I have to admit, I don’t even crave my big “fried” breakfasts anymore and if we do feel like we want a change, we have eggs with smoked salmon, home grown basil and wholemeal bread. I love this healthy lifestyle and I feel a lot better for it.

I had a bit of a smoothie left, so I decided to freeze it and make some ice cream. But before I’ve done that so, I did blend the remaining smoothie with 90% dark chocolate (my favourite) to make it more desserty and still healthy! Nom Nom! A smoothie that I make quite often as it’s very filling and tasty is sweet potato smoothie and I also tend to freeze this one and have it as a dessert! There is also a lot more on my Instagram, so do check it out, please!

Your pictures are amazing and this looks absolutely delicious! I'm always on the lookout for great smoothies to try out as they're my favourite thing to have for breakfast (because Nutella isn't the best option haha!) xx
