Oxpasture Hall hotel, the hidden gem of Scarborough…
…and also the most beautiful, picturesque hotel I’d been to across the whole UK. The hotel is hidden just 15 minutes from Scarborough and the road leading to it is surrounded by fields, farms, sheep and glorious hills…to me, it was the unspoken promise of a relaxed weekend.
Staying at Ox Pasture Hall hotel has its privileges. This hotel is right in the centre of all the adventure. Just few minutes away from Scarborough, located in the middle of hills, it provides enough diversity to feed the adventurous needs of just any of us. If you want to find out more on what to do in around Scarborough, read my “Places to Visit in Scarborough” post.
Ox Pasture Hall hotel is the perfect base to explore the North York Moors, to visit the seaside, The Scarborough castle or the sealife centre and it’s located in the middle of a beautiful Yorkshire countryside.
Our hotel room was gorgeous, it was a luxury suite after all. Everything around the room screamed quality and comfort. I felt very much like at a very classy home rather than a hotel room and I believe that was the purpose of it all. I was taken back by the overall layout of the rooms, creating a perfect spacious flow throughout the suite. I’m a enourmous fan of big windows and I was love-strucked by these as they
connected the living area to the outdoors and brought beautiful views of the countryside into the room.
I was very much taken by the size of the bathroom and I’m going to share a little secret. I actually saw the bathroom in pictures on the website, so I arrived prepared. I packed my Spa of the World Egyptian Milk & Honey Bath from The Body Shop as well as their pillow for bath. It was time to have my “ME TIME” as I was so ready to spoil myself.
It’s the ultimate relaxation time for me. I just think there’s
something special about taking the time to run the bath filled with bubbles and
some of my favourite bath products (I wish I had candles on me). To make it
even more special, I poured a glass of bubbly and listened to some of my
favourite tunes. Who needs a spa when you can have this?
|Getting ready for a few drinks before the dinner.|
After my relaxing time in the bath (my finger tips resembled a wrinkled skin of a 90 year old woman), it was time to go down for our dinner. We actually left a bit earlier just so we can enjoy pre-dinner drinks at their bar area. Of course the fireplace is an absolute bonus and matches the mood of the room pefectly. They have taken historical references from an old countryside era and transformed them into modern interior that makes you feel like at home.
There is something about eating food that has been prepared for you, don’t you think? No slaving in the kitchen, no mess to clean, no stress… just sitting at the table, lost in conversation, sipping on a glass of Prosecco.
If you like my dress, you can read the outfit post: The long sleeved elegance to find out where it’s from and how I styled it. The pictures were taken in the vast garden of the Ox Pasture Hall hotel and it provided me with quite a huge variety of different countryside background.
It was 7am on Sunday and I woke up to a beautiful day. Sun was already out and I felt like I’d slept hundreds of years. I could barely believe it. My husband was also already up, and we were both determined to find out where that mattress was from. We need one, no matter what is the cost. It’s funny how one little thing can change your take of the whole day. It proves how much the quality of your sleep can influence how you start your new day.
We were one of the first ones arriving for a breakfast, perfect opportunity for me to take some pictures of the room and glorious food (anyone else thinks of Ice Age when using this phrase, 😉 ) We also got full English breakfast, however it smelled that good that I ate it and then remembered to take pictures!
I smiled like a little girl and I couldn’t wait to see what awaited us that day! After last night’s good sleep we felt very refreshed and ready for some more adventures. We knew that Scarborough has another beach as well and I just felt that after our very heavy breakfast, I need some good quality walk to work (
sweat) it off. You can find plenty of lovely walks and hikes around the hotel as well, however I have booked tickets for 11am to visit Sea Life Sanctuary in Scarborough, which didn’t give us much time to explore local hills.
Just before we headed over to the North Bay beach and Sea Life Sanctuary, I managed to sneak out from the room and took some more pictures of this beautiful countryside hotel. Isn’t it gorgeous? It can be hired as a venue and if I ever renew my vowes, I can imagine it would be at this place.
Please see below a mixture of mine and my husband’s photography of this lovely countryside hotel…
Hand to my heart, I would recommend to stay at this beautiful country house hotel. Our short weekend break was wonderful, relaxed and the hotel delivered on everything that it promises on its website. Perhaps even more…so why don’t you find out for yourselves?
