It’s becoming colder and colder outside, the true promise of winter is on its way. I find that the longer I spend outside, my nose turns red and my cheeks blush. It’s the time of the year we all wrap up in huge scarves and warm coats and spend more and more of our time sipping on hot chocolates complimented by a cheeky topping of whipped cream and perhaps even some marshmallows. Coffee places are bursting with people drinking their pumpkin spiced lattes and even secretly ordering ginger bread men to top their sugar levels. Well, I certainly do.
I recently went to visit my parents back in The Czech Republic. There is nothing better than the buzz you feel when landing in your homeland, I would even go as far to compare the feeling to something like…opening your birthday present, it’s full of excitement and opened promises.
During that time in Czech I went for a walk with my family and it was absolutely lovely. I feel very lucky because we have one forest right behind our house and a second one 10 minutes away. Even more, we also live in between two lakes!
There is nothing better than a Sunday walk in nature no matter what the season. However an autumn walk can be exhilarating. There is a strangely stimulating atmosphere in the forest, looking at all those colours of autumn, and listening to leaves crisping under your footsteps. It was a fine autumn day, beautifully still around us with sun rays forcing their way through thick tree branches and tickling our faces.
Even a short walk in nature can complete your day, make it better…
These lovely forest walks always fill me up with energy. In nature, everything is tightened to absolute perfection, from a mixture of scents to intriguing designs of nature. To me, walks in the autumn are a charming experience and I would love to experience it every single day.
It was truly wonderful having a chance to spend time together without any real purpose or even direction to our walk. We chatted about everything and nothing, we even got to the lake that charmingly echoed with all the colours from surrounding trees. We walked along the lake and couldn’t help being swayed by the beauty around us. I never wanted it to end…
Beauty is in simplicity.
…but as everything else, even my few days of rest in the Czech Republic are gone. I’m back in the UK and all I’m left with are those peaceful memories that I’ll cherish every time I close my eyes.
It’s probably not worth describing all that forest beauty any further, I hope my photos describe the mood of our Sunday walk much better than a few of my words. Autumn walks in a forest can be tremendously replenishing and I’m hoping my newly acquired positive mood will stay with me for some time.
Let me share with you few of magical moments captured by my camera, I hope you enjoy it!
