Personally I prefer casual business dress code that is suited for everyday use. To me, workwear dress code is much more than jus clothes that I put on every morning. My workwear has to make me feel confident, professional and most of all, comfortable. Fortunately, the business style is on the peak of popularity nowadays and the possibilities out there are never-ending, catering for every taste and every wallet.

However it can be perhaps a little too overwhelming for any woman in the business world. What style to go for? What message should she send? To make it even more complicated, every business has its own dress code. Whilst it’s amazing that we have the freedom to mostly wear whatever we desire, it’s very easy to get confused and get it all wrong. I know only too well how easy it’s to get my style mismatched and end up looking like a joke. If you fancy to visit all my office outifts, please see here.

The fact is that the clothing and style are an important aspect of everyday and they somehow help to secure the successful outcome of any day better than anything else. I’m not here to tell you what you should and shouldn’t wear but I wanted to share with you my top tips I’ve learnt from the start of my career in a business.

The comfort is the key to confidence.

The fundamental fashion  tips for modern business women that we should take into a consideration are surprisingly pretty straightforward.

The Practicality

The practical value should always be of primary importance. Why? We no longer wear our clothes just for the sake of it. The outfit is there to en sure that those combinations accentuate our professionalism, competence, to support our confidence and our work image. Something I’ve been working on recently.

The Simplicity

The stereotypical business style is represented by none other than the ethereal black and white combos most frequently including suits, or navy blue tones with a white shirt or a top. And let’s not forget heels! There is nothing wrong with going for the old time classics. They were voted the classics for a reason. Not only these simple combinations are easy to pick, they also the perfect power statements.

The Diversity

Of course that those statement everyday business looks can be those that allow for some diversity of colours and tones. I prefer to go for calm hues and soothing cool palette and of course pastel shades (as these are my colours), all correctly matched with each other.

Today’s Outfit Look

If you’re wondering what’s about today’s look, wonder no further. I opted for the classic shirt look that I find is always modern and beautiful. The perfect business look according to me.

The colours are supposed to be of the classical tones like monochrome white, but the options out there are never ending. I’m a big fan of shirts and blouses of any type. With a right shirt or a blouse, you can easily transfer any type of look to sophistication. These babies will never go out of fashion.I’ve just recently purchased another staple shirt, a frilled shirt from Zara, that you can read about in my Mastering my Workwear post.

If I want to concentrate on the most important tasks of my day, I simple can’t spend most of my mornings stressing in front of the wardrobe, panicking I have nothing to wear. I don’t think anyone appreciates that right?

That’s why I’ve decided to establish quite a big assortment of shirts and blouses in my wardrobe. This means, I’ll be able to create different and appealing ‘business style’ combinations whenever I’m in a rush in morning. This blue frill long sleeved shirt is from M&S. They’ve recently upped their game, have you noticed? There is actually quite a few workwear staples I’m eyeing at the moment so look out for more workwear post!

I find that black, white, and navy blue are irreplaceable classics of all times. This classic colour combination  never lets me down and what’s more, this colour scheme is pretty timeless. I combined my look with the modern classic staple piece – the flared trousers. Another great investment piece that I’m grateful for. I got mine from Mango sale for £10 and it’s helped me to feel sophisticated and comfortable during several meetings.

My last tip of the day: the key is picking combinations, which will put emphasis on your personality and your good looks even more, which will, in a long run, boost your self-confidence and highlight your charm.

I love the look, it looks so elegant and classy. I love buying new work clothes because I you’re right I like to feel confident, professional and happy with what I’m wearing! I don’t wear trousers to work as they don;t suit me but I love wearing monochrome colours and blouses x

I really love shirts, especially when they’re buttoned up to the top. It’s such a nice androgynous look but the ruffles really soften it up! So lovely <3
